Teresa J. Glod
B.A., LL.B. Family Law
Teresa has practised exclusively in family law since 1986. Born and raised in Calgary, Teresa graduated with her B.A. from the University of Calgary, and received her Law Degree from the University of Alberta. She practised in larger law firms in Calgary, and in a boutique family law firm before starting Lawson Glod in 1999.
Teresa delivers straightforward, pragmatic, and considered advice, and strives to resolve matters reasonably, with strong skills in mediation and negotiation. She has a genuine desire and natural ability to connect and empathize with her clients.
Recently, Teresa became a Practice Manager with the Canadian Centre for Professional Legal Education, where she works to mentor and assist articling students with the practical skills necessary to ensure their success in the legal profession. She has found the job extremely rewarding and is enjoying making new connections with young lawyers.
Teresa’s interests outside of law are varied. She loves to travel, is a keen equestrian, enjoys photography, music, writing, cooking, and spending time in the mountains.
Patrick F. Mahoney
B.A., LL.B. Civil Litigation
Patrick graduated from the University of Calgary with a B.A. in Political Science before obtaining his law degree from the University of Alberta. He has practised civil litigation for over 33 years, developing a wealth of courtroom experience in Provincial Court, the Court of Queen's Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal.
Patrick’s strengths lie in his preparedness, his meticulous attention to detail, his logical approach and his extensive legal knowledge. He has assisted clients with a wide range of issues, including contractual, corporate, collections, construction, insurance, estate, employment, personal injury, and family law disputes.
Outside of law, Pat enjoys back country hiking, downhill skiing, and a good day on the golf course.
James K. Lawson
Retired, Counsel
James Lawson graduated from the University of Alberta law school in 1980. He practiced law in the City of Calgary at several law firms before starting the firm of Lawson Glod with Teresa Glod in 1999. James is a former Chairperson of the Canadian Bar Association’s Personal Injury Subsection and a long time member of the Alberta Civil Trial Lawyers Association. He has many years of experience in personal injury law assisting clients with their claims before the Alberta Courts. James retired from the practice of law in 2021 after 40 years of practice.
